3. How my blog started

I first started a blog called The Phoenix Rises as a personal blog to deal with trauma. As time went on, I wanted to share important information to educate and bring awareness to mental illness and sexual assault. I therefore decided to create this blog to share studies, articles, and resources. It is my goal to de-stigmatize and remove the myths surrounding these topics. If you are interested or have ideas about what you want to see, please do not hesitate to contact me!

  1. Well done I think it is so important to talk about trauma. I never hide the fact that I have endured mental illness and felt suicidal. If we share our experiences and how we have moved on others might see a way out of the black tunnel of depression. That is why I share so openly how I’m trying to support my wife as she deals so bravely with vascular dementia: what a woman!

    1. You are brave yourself for supporting your wife! Depression is a very difficult illness to live with, and people should know that there are others in the world going through the same thing. I’m so glad that you support the purpose of this site. I wish you and your wife the best, and I hope that this site helps you even in a small way.
